What happened to that land?

Shalom, dear friends of ACTS!

The ACTS team finally had the opportunity to visit our Togolese partners during our trip in August. They have been fighting the pandemic and continuing to promote their ministry in Togo in the past 1+ year. Praise the Lord that the partners in Togo are all well, and the ministry of ACTS is also making good progress. We will share some exciting updates from this past exciting trip with. Let’s start with  “What happened to that land?”

During the grand opening of the River Of Life Clinic in Togo, the Grand-Chief and the Mayor of Lomé verbally agreed to give ACTS a plot of land for the development of future medical education. However, due to COVD-19, the granting of the land was unable to be completed before the end of this Mayor’s term. Hence, the status of the gifted land remained  unresolved and up in the air. During this trip to Togo, the ACTS team had the opportunity to meet with the new Mayor and the city government team to fully introduce ACTS’ ministries and prospects, especially emphasizing that “We hope that through developing centers of marketplace education and medicine, Togo would undergo a transformation; and then from Togo many other neighboring nations would be transformed too!” ACTS’ vision really resonated with the city government team, and exchanged the land originally planned to be donated to another one four times the size. Wow! God’s provision is beyond what we asked for!

In the meeting, the Mayor made a special request regarding the grant of land. He requested that a church must be established in addition to medical and educational facilities. He believes that medical treatment can only cure diseases, yet only God can heal people’s hearts and bring people the hope of eternity! What a moving request. Praise the Lord for creating  this beautiful relationship!

The new land is located at the intersection of three roads, which means it will be a landmark for that region. We can  already envision that in that vast piece of land, there will be educational and medical institutions that transform Africa, as well as a glorious temple. Talents from all over Africa will come to get equipped  so they can go forward and bless all corners of Africa, running towards the majesty promised by God, becoming a vessel for transforming Africa and  future generations!

The day after the exploration of the new land was the seventh birthday of ACTS, praise the Lord for this great gift! The ACTS team is grateful and hopes that we will stand on this land  ushering in the next meaningful seven years. God’s work is so wonderful, we are filled with awe!

There was an unexpected surprise during this trip. The Paramount Chief of Sagbado extended a special invitation to our team to his Palace. There, he adorned us with special necklaces and bracelets representing the Sagbado tribe, crowning us to become princes and princesses of Sagbado! We have truly become a family! Their love and acceptance of us has warmed our hearts deeply, and I know that God’s love is filling us.

We hope to build an educational campus and medical facility on this land, to equip Togolese young people to fight poverty, improve Togo’s medical system, train and support Togolese missionaries to enter the mission field, and make this a headquarters of marketplace missions. We also hope this place becomes a base and hub for workplace missions in African countries, further realizing the mission of transformation.

I sincerely invite you to continue to seek God’s guidance in prayer together with us, so that we can become vessels for the transformation of the whole earth and fulfill the call of the Great Commission!

Prayer Points:

  1. Pray for wisdom from God so that the team can smoothly draw up a comprehensive land use plan, so that the goals can be reached seamlessly.
  2. Pray that God will prepare the most suitable professional partners in various areas, such as architectural design, construction, law, and finance, etc., so that the plan can proceed smoothly.
  3. Starting from mid-September, Togo will have a one-month lockdown to control the pandemic. Pray for God to cover Togo during the lockdown, to be able to experience God’s special protection, and have a peaceful life.

We sincerely invite you to continue to walk with us in Prayers and Donations,  Forward! Africa, Forward Love!  Support ACTS
